CAPP CENTER empowers children and families
to succeed by
offering service on
three service delivery tracks...

°CAPP Parent Aides work with those parenting children in our office and at home visits, to help parents build parenting skills, understand child development milestones, develop new discipline and child management strategies, learn to advocate for themselves and the children and guide their connection with other community services.

°CAPP Family Professionals lead support groups where parents and children interact with others, learn to develop better listening and reasoning skills and are introduced to strategies to address anger and develop positive coping and survival skills.

°CAPP Parent Educators lead classes including the Strengthening Families Program, an internationally recognized, evidence-based training program found to significantly reduce problem behaviors, delinquency, abuse and neglect of children and significantly improve social competencies and school performance.

These service tracks are supported by Early Childhood Specialists who provide training and skill building for child care providers and parents.  Case Management and school advocacy is available where appropriate.

… Joining together dedicated to
help assure that every child has
an equal chance to succeed.

We could not accomplish the work
we do without the hundreds of hours donated by
 volunteers,
UNCW students,
our Board,
staff and others.
